Session: Renewable and Green – A Transformed and Automated Growth Ecosystem
Julien Choukroun is an AI expert and technology leader specializing in the integration of artificial intelligence with sustainable infrastructure. As Head of AI at DataGreen, Julien leads innovation initiatives focused on building intelligent, low-impact data infrastructure to support the energy transition and environmental resilience. With a background from Thales group and INRIA research labs that bridges scientific research, engineering, and entrepreneurship, Julien’s work centers on the convergence of digital transformation, energy efficiency, and responsible innovation.
At DataGreen, he is spearheading the development of a new generation of AI-powered micro datacenters, optimized for circular economy principles and powered by renewable energy sources. These modular infrastructures are designed to reduce energy waste, enable smart resource allocation, and operate in harmony with their environment, offering viable solutions for edge computing in both urban and rural contexts. Julien also advocates for responsible AI frameworks and eco-design in the tech sector, addressing the carbon and water footprints of digital technologies through measurable, data-driven strategies.
Julien is an active contributor to European conversations around the Green Deal, energy sovereignty, and the digital-ecological transition. He works closely with local authorities, academic institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to promote green innovation, sustainable agriculture systems, and cross-sectoral digital infrastructure that respects both environmental and social governance principles.
His recent engagements include strategic collaborations with climate-tech startups, participation in international tech summits such as CES Las Vegas, and leading AI-powered R&D projects that align with the EU’s 2050 carbon neutrality goals. Passionate about the role of technology in shaping regenerative economies, Julien views artificial intelligence not only as a tool for optimization, but as a catalyst for transforming entire ecosystems from energy and transport to agri-food and biosecurity.
Through his work, Julien advocates for a future where digital transformation serves environmental stewardship, equitable development, and collaborative innovation across borders.
Company Profile
Artificial Intelligence, 5G, IoT, and the cloud… These technologies are fueling an explosion in data volume and sending demand for datacenters through the roof.
But behind this exponential growth lie 4 critical challenges:
👉 skyrocketing energy costs,
👉 massive environmental impact,
👉 increasing land pressure,
👉 and the rapid loss of digital sovereignty.
DataGreen tackles these issues with an innovative deeptech approach.
We design, deliver, and deploy next-gen datacenters that are sustainable, sovereign, and high-performance with zero need for air conditioning, immersion, or external water tanks.
After 5 years of R&D, we’ve patented 3 exclusive technologies:
✅ a sealed smart server — immune to water, air, and dust,
✅ an ultra-efficient liquid cooling system that eliminates air conditioning,
✅ combined with waste heat recovery and reuse,
all orchestrated by embedded AI and machine learning.
We also retrofit existing datacenters, giving them a second life, greener, and without heavy CapEx with a faster ROI.
🏆 In 2025, our solutions were awarded by CES, Dassault Systèmes, and the Africa-France Forum for Ecological and Energy Transition.
Our clients:
✔ cut energy costs by up to 75%,
✔ optimize up to 90% of their existing infrastructure,
✔ while increasing server density and compute power per m² and remain 100% sovereign over their data.
Our technology is deployed in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.
At DataGreen, we turn your operational constraints into a profitable competitive edge.
